President Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Primary Election Overwhelmingly In Ukwa-West LGA Of Abia State, As Stakeholders Zealously Appoint Sir Don Ubani As Their Chairman.
As was generally expected, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, was almost unanimously elected as the Presidential Candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Party’s Presidential Primary Election that took place in the ten Electoral Wards of Ukwa-West Local Government Area of Abia State today, Saturday (Nkwo) 23rd May, 2026.
In each of the ten Electoral Wards of (1)Asa-North,
(2) Obokwe,
(3) Ogwe,
(4) Asa-South,
(5) Ipu-West,
(6) Obuzor,
(7) Ipu-East,
(8) Ipu-South,
(9) Ozaa Ukwu, and
(10) Ozar West, Members of APC gladly came out in their numbers to make sure they voted for the Leader whose reforms have impacted very positively on their lives.
The rival contestant in the Presidential Primary Election, Mr Stanley Osifo, hardly scored more than two votes in any of the ten wards while President Tinubu garnered almost all votes in each of the ten wards.
In Asa-South Ward, the home of the Commissioner representing Abia State on the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, and Leader of APC in Ukwa-West Local Government Area, Chief Eruba Dimgba, Ph.D, the voting Members showed deep excitement to line behind Chief Dimgba who served as the Agent of Mr President, carrying and showcasing the President’s poster.
A similar thing happened in Asa-North Ward where the turnout of APC Members was exceptionally a mammoth crowd, cueing behind a former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Abia State, Sir Don Ubani, who also served as the President’s Agent.
By the time Stakeholders of the Party in Ukwa-West had finished voting in their respective wards and, being elated with the outcome of the Primary Election in their Wards and had gone to celebrate their success with their Leader at his Umuaka country-home, every nook and cranny of Ukwa-West was agog with their anticipated electoral successes in the general election of 2027.
Critical Stakeholders of the Party from different Wards, such as a former Commissioner on the Board of defunct Oil Minerals Producing Areas Development Commission, OMPADEC, Sir Esiaba Iwezor, former Executive Chairman of Ukwa-West Local Government Council and the Party’s Candidate for Ukwa-West State Constituency in 2027 election, Chief Uzoma Silvanus Nwaji, former Chief Whip of Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Tony Mezie Nwubani, former Executive Chairman of Ukwa-West Local Government Council and Chairman of former Elected Local Government Council Chairmen in Nigeria, Abia State Chapter, Chief Okey Kanu, the Secretary of APC in Abia-South Senatorial District, Mr Ubani Ogbonna, the Legal Adviser of APC in Abia-South Senatorial District, Sir Sam Ogbonna, Esq, Engr Noah Martins, the immediate-past Assistant-Secretary of APC in Abia State, Engr Sterling C Uruakpa, the Treasurer of the Party in Abia State, Chief John Ajuzieogu, the Chairman, and Deputy Chairman of the Party in Ukwa-West, Mr Success Enyinna, and Chief Chukwudi Kingsley Ekeke, respectively, the President-General of Asa Development Union, Elder Goodluck Nwanneakolam Nwuju, and many others expressed confidence in the leadership of Chief Eruba Dimgba and unanimously pledged to make sure President Tinubu, and all Candidates of APC will win in Ukwa-West in 2027.
Overwhelmed with joy, Chief Eruba Dimgba assured the Stakeholders that every democratic machinery will be put in place to make sure all candidates of the Party will win in Ukwa-West in 2027.
The Primary Election was observed by Officials of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Police, Department of State Service, DSS, Special Investigation Bureau while the Party Headquarters in Umuahia sent a Returning Officer to do the needful.
Before the Stakeholders departed, the Leader of the Party in Ukwa-West, Chief Dimgba, who extolled the altruistic leadership qualities of the Deputy Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, The Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CFR, proposed the appointment of a former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Abia State, Sir Don Ubani, as Chairman of APC Stakeholders in Ukwa-West, and, without any exception, his proposal was unanimously adopted by all, and, so, Sir Don Ubani became Chairman of APC Stakeholders in Ukwa-West.
In the same patriotic vein, Chief Eruba Dimgba asked the Stakeholders to consider one of the immediate-past frontrunners in recently-concluded APC House of Assembly Primary Election for Ukwa-West State Constituency, Chief Ikechi Nmenme, as Secretary of the Stakeholders. As in the case of Sir Don Ubani, the Stakeholders accepted the proposal without any objection.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of Stakeholders of APC in Ukwa-West Local Government Area, Sir Don Ubani, thanked Chief Eruba Dimgba, and all the Stakeholders for reposing confidence in both Chief Ikechi Nmenme and himself as Secretary, and Chairman of Stakeholders, respectively. He assured the Stakeholders that they will have every cause to be proud of the confidence they have reposed in them.
He pleaded with Stakeholders to eschew bitterness, and always consider themselves as ‘Fishers of Men’.
Sir Sam Ogbonna, Esq. gave the vote of thanks while Hon Tony Mezie Nwubani said the closing prayers.
