Representative Chris Nkwonta Lays Foundation For Escalation Of APC Membership In Abia-South.
Monday(Orie) 31-03-2025.

Since he joined All Progressives Congress, APC, after he had won election on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in October 2024, the Member representing Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency in the 10th House of Representatives, Chief Chris Nkwonta has voluntarily taken it as his responsibility to make sure All Progressives Congress, APC, which was almost non-existent in Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency becomes a household name and a Political Party that will readily win elections in the area.

To that extent, he had expensively and successfully embarked on sensitisation and mobilization visits to the Registration Areas in the two Local Government Areas of the Federal Constituency. Being a Man that had impacted very positively on many individuals in the Constituency even before holding any political position, his efforts have yielded quite enormously.

Having built the All Progressives Congress into a state of readiness for any electoral eventuality and also electoral success in Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency, Chief Nkwonta altruistically reasoned that if APC would win only in his Federal Constituency, and lose in the other four Local Government Areas of Aba-North, Aba-South, Obingwa, and Ugwunagbo, that are also in Abia-South Senatorial District, and being the highest elected Political Office Holder in Abia-South Senatorial District, on the Platform of All Progressives Congress, it would not be in the overall interest of the People of Abia-South, Abia State and the South-East in general.

Like the Political Generalissimo and workaholic that he has always been which he had imbibed right from his early days as a young man in the Nigerian Private Sector, he decided to deploy enormous resources to expanding the influence and acceptability of All Progressives Congress, APC, to the entire Abia-South Senatorial District.

Therefore, on Sunday 30th March, 2025, he summoned, through an aggressive Radio and Social Media announcements, a meeting of all Party Executive Organs and Stakeholders in Abia-South Senatorial District in his Akwete Country-home. The response was almost explosive. A meeting that had been estimated to have an attendance of about 1,500 persons ended up recording over three thousand persons.

Of course, the Chairman of the Party in Abia-South Senatorial District, Sir Justice Onwunmelu who presided over the meeting, led other members of his Executive Committee to the meeting.

Many Stakeholders that graced the meeting included the Commissioner representing Abia State on the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission, Chief Eruba Dimgba, Ph.D, the 2023 Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Party in Abia State, Barr (Mrs) Glory Akara, a former Member of House of Representatives, Rt Hon Uzor Azubuike, a former Deputy Speaker in Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emeka Stanley, a former Member of Abia State House of Assembly for Aba Central, Sir Abraham Oba, a former Deputy Leader of Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Paul Taribo, a former Executive Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Council, Chief Isaac Ogbonna, a former Transition Committee Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Council, Elder Godwin Nna, a former Commissioner in Abia State Executive Council, Prince Ezekwesiri Ananaba, a former Chief Whip in Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Tony Mezie Nwubani, a former Executive Chairman of Ukwa-West Local Government Council, Chief Sylvanus Uzoma Nwaji, a former Member-elect of House of Representatives, Sir Esiaba Iwezor, a former Commissioner for Petroleum in Abia State, Chief Eze Nwanganga, and a Woman Leader from Ukwa-West, Mrs Rhoda Emeka. At the end of the meeting, a 7-Point Communiqué was issued thus;
