On Inauguration Of Technical Committee Of OUR TEAM 2027, Senator Orji Uzor Assures President Tinubu Of An Overwhelming Victory In Abia State In 2027.

Three former Governors of Abia State, Senators Orji Uzor Kalu, 1999-2007, T. A. Orji, (Ochendo), 2007-2015, and Ambassador Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, 2015-2023, led by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, came together and formed what is known in Abia State as OUR TEAM 1999-2007. The nomenclature has, however, changed to OUR TEAM 2027.
Amongst the objectives underneath OUR TEAM 2027 are;
(1) Making sure President Tinubu will be reelected in 2027,
(2) Good Governance In Abia State,
(3) Paying Attention To The Collective Welfare of The People Of Abia State, and
(4) Restoring Constitutional Democracy To Abia State, Including Returning The State’s Capital To Umuahia, etc.
In a meeting of OUR TEAM 2027 generously hosted by the third Executive Governor of Abia State, Senator T. A. Orji (Ochendo) at his Umuahia-Ibeku country-home on Friday (Orie) 9th January, 2026, OUR TEAM resolved, among many other things, to set up a Technical Committee to help develop a Blueprint that will guide the Organization.
True to its vision, a 28-Member Technical Committee was formed, and was, thereafter, inaugurated at Umuahia on Saturday (Orie) 14th March, 2026, by the Leader of OUR TEAM 2027, His Excellency, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
While inaugurating the Technical Committee, with effective consent and support of the two other former Governors, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu made it clear that every democratic step must be taken by the TEAM to make sure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is returned overwhelmingly as President in 2027. He was emphatic that if Abia State joined the league of States that will work assiduously to return President Tinubu, the reward would also be overwhelming.
Senator Kalu explained in a very simple and self-exolanatory manner that it is the democratic responsibility of Members of OUR TEAM, REALITY ORGANIZATION, OUK MOVEMENT, and ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS, APC, in Abia State to work very hard and guarantee the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR in 2027.
In an unmistakable term, Senator Kalu stated that it would amount to self delusion for Members of APC in Abia State to ever imagine that the leadership and followership of the Labour Party in Abia State will ever vote for President Tinubu. He asked, if the Labour Party in the State, in any way, should try to create the impression that it would vote for President Tinubu in 2027, why did she bluntly refuse to join the President’s Political Party, APC, when many other Governors, including those of Enugu State, Edo State, Zamfara State, and Adamawa State have all joined APC?
Senator Kalu used that opportunity to assure Journalists in the State that no amount of gubernatorial intimidation should deter them from carrying out their constitutional responsibilities, as Members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm. He warned that no Member of the Media should be insulted just for playing the constitutional role of a watchdog in Abia State, and frowned at a situation where a Journalist in the State was labelled with the tag of stupidity for simply asking for accountability.
The former Governor, for the umpteenth time, expressed worry that the continued abandonment of Umuahia as the Constitutional Capital of Abia State by the Labour Party Government in Abia State has badly affected the economy of Umuahia, and, by extention, the State. He again called on the Governor of the State to relocate from Isialangwa-South to Umuahia.
Just before inaugurating the Technical Committee, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, again, congratulated the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State for recently having harmonious peaceful Congresses in the State. He made it clear that he is solidly in support of all those that emerged in the Congresses, starting from the Wards, Local Government Areas, Senatorial Districts, and the State. He pledged his support at all times. According to him, APC in Abia State is one and united. He advised that any member that will not give peace a chance in the Party should try another Party.
While inaugurating the Technical Committee, chaired by a Constitutional Lawyer, Professor A.C.B Agbazuere, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu urged the Committee to work diligently and fast in developing a Blueprint that will guide OUR TEAM 2027 as a Road Map in navigating political terrains ahead of 2027.
Goodwill messages were received from former Governors T. A. Orji, (Ochendo), Ambassador Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, and immediate-past Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Technical Committee, Professor A.C.B Agbazuere, thanked Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Senator T. A. Orji, and Ambassador Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for reposing confidence in Members of the Technical Committee, and assured that the Committee will perform the duties assigned to it with diligence, speed, and accuracy.
Among Members of the Technical Committee that spoke in appreciation of the vision of former Governors Orji Uzor Kalu, T. A. Orji, and Okezie Ikpeazu were a former Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emeka Stanley, a former Member of Abia State House of Assembly, Chief Uche Ogboso, former Commissioners in the State; Dr Samuel Ahiwe, Prince Enyinna Ubani, Dr Mrs Elizabeth Esochaghi, Dr Mrs Ori Obasi, Eze Ogo Emeka Onuoha, some former Local Government Council Chairmen, including Chief Silvanus Uzoma Nwaji, Chief Iyk Anyatonwu, some other notable political leaders, such as Chief Emma Omokwe, Rev Mrs Jemaimah Ola Kalu, Deaconess Rhoda Emeka, Mr Peter Nwakanma, Mr Emeka Bonny De Laz, Barr Emeka I. U. Kalu, and Dr Ikechukwu Ndukwe.
Also present was a former Chief of Staff to former Governor T. A. Orji, a 2023 Governorship Candidate in Abia State, and 2027 Governorship Aspirant on the platform of APC, Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu.
Being a renowned Development Economist, Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu spoke expansively on inseparable relationship between Infrastructural Development, and Welfare of the Citizens, through different Youth and Women Empowerment programmes. He assured that if given the opportunity to govern Abia State, he would introduce a lot of human capital development initiatives for the overall developmentof Abia State.
There was, however, no time that the Technical Committee ever stated that the Committee was specifically meant for Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu. Rather the Committee plans to have interactive sessions with whoever that wants to govern Abia State in 2027, as to have a critical assessment of the Aspirant’s capability before making up her mind on who to support.
The Public should, therefore, disregard any report that purports the Technical Committee as a platform dedicated to the aspiration of Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu. That report, from wherever it emanated, is untrue.
