Due to numerous personal engagements that often take me out of the Enyimba City of Aba, I have not had enough time to be at Aba Sports Club for more than six months. It is a Club I enjoy its membership and the camaraderie that follows it.
I came into the town today and felt I should go to the Club, if not for any reason, to get acquainted with goings-on in the Club. At the Reception of the Club, I observed a captivating magnificent picture of the Club when it was called European Club, Aba, with only Europeans as Members.
As a memorial, I asked my son, Engr Chukwuka who was in my company, to take a picture of mine as I pointed to the said picture of the Club.
Though a Member of the Club for close to 20 years and aware that the Club was an All-European Club established in 1926 and located in European Quarters, as it was then called, I never knew that the Club was originally called European Club, Aba.
Every day, Man continues to learn. At no age or stage should the living stop learning. Many thanks to the current leadership of the Club as provided by a young man with all the energy and vision required to propel any human organization to success, Chief Sir Nkene Enukeme. Aba Sports Club is and remains the best in the South of Nigeria, except Lagos. How Time flies!
