Sack Of VC Of ABSU, Governor Otti Relentless On His Path Of Vendetta.

The news of sack of the Vice Chancellor of Abia State University, Uturu, the very Distinguished Erudite Professor Onyemachi Ogbulu, did not come as a surprise to Equityreporters.net.
This is because, by his antecedents, it was obvious that not minding the great academic and administrative works Professor Ogbulu has been doing to elevate the ranking and status of Abia State University, Uturu, Governor Otti would not see anything good in his person because he was meritoriously appointed as a Vice Chancellor by the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Even if a Saint had served the State under Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor Otti would never be impressed by his saintly performances. This is why after fruitlessly looking everywhere for a fault against a former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Abia State and the immediate-past Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the immediate-past Deputy Governor of the State, Sir Don Ubani, Governor Otti condescended to the very parochial and wicked level of impounding a car that was formally bequeathed to him by the Abia State Executive Council, presided over by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Sir Don Ubani is the only Political Appointee in Abia State Executive Council under Governor Okezie Ikpeazu that Governor Otti singled out to impound his car. Even after a Court of Competent Jurisdiction had Ordered that the said car be released to Sir Don Ubani, Governor Otti has continued to disobey the Court Order. Governor Otti has no respect for the Rule of Law!
On the vindictive sack of Professor Ogbulu, it is important to note that Visitation Panels are set up every five or ten years. The essence is usually to evaluate the performance of an immediate-past University Administration, with regards to knowing its strengths and weaknesses, in the overall interest of the University. It is never set up to assess a sitting Vice Chancellor or as a camouflage to witch-hunt a marked enemy.
The problem of Governor Otti is that of Inferiority Complex. He is sadistic and takes pleasure in discomfort of his fellow human-beings. That is why he derives joy in sacking Abia Workers.
Apart from his transferred aggression of his pathological hatred for former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, he also has hatred for Ukwa People. He holds Ukwa People in ridicule and total scorn. That is why he removed an Ukwa Man as a Vice Chancellor, only to derisively appoint another Ukwa Man as a mere Member of Governing Council of Abia State University, Uturu. What a ridicule!
Professor Ogbulu is just a victim of Governor Otti’s pursuit of his imaginary vendetta against former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, the Peoples Democratic Party, and his time-held odium against Ukwa People.
Ukwa People are proud of Professor Ogbulu who worked altruistically and blamelessly to uplift Abia State University, Uturu, in all departments of evaluation, including accreditation of courses, excellence in external examinations, and overall ranking amongst Universities in both Nigeria and Africa. It is interesting that the Visitation Panel did not indite Professor Ogbulu’s hard built integrity. It only asked a question on his status as a Traditional Ruler. Professor Lazarus Edward Nnanyelu Ekwueme remained as the Dean of Faculty of Musicology at University of Lagos for a while even after he was enthroned as the Igwe of Okoh Kingdom.
What is wrong in a Traditional Ruler, who is an Academic, devoting his passion, time and intellectual resources to the visible upliftment of the only University the State has? Governor Otti is, indeed, a very parochial and primitive character.
In pursuit of his vendetta, he is hellbent on relocating the Faculty of Law of the University from its Umuahia Campus, just to spite the personality of former Governor T A Orji, Ochendo, during whose tenure the Faculty of Law was sited at Umuahia.
The reason the Visitation Panel gave for recommending the removal of the Faculty of Law from Umuahia, which, according to it, is to reduce the cost of administration of the University, is not plausible and acceptable. This is because Abia State University, Uturu, formerly Imo State University, was established by late Governor Sam Mbakwe of Old Imo State as a model of University of Nebraska in the United States of America.
University of Nebraska has five Campuses. Governor Dee Sam Mbakwe also designed Imo State University to be a multi-campus University. That was never an impediment to the administration of the University.
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, which Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe established, taking a cue from Chicago State University in America, currently runs four distinct Campuses, (1) University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN (2) University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, UNEC, (3) University of Nigeria College of Medicine, Ituku Ozalla, and (4) University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Old Campus, Enugu.
In Zaria, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, operates a multi-campus University. Apart from the main campus in Samaru, the Faculty of Law is located in faraway Kongo. No Governor, even in the dark days of the Military, has ever attempted to shut down any of the campuses.
Governor Otti obviously behaves like a vowed enemy of human progress. Equityreporters.net wishes to bring to the notice of all lovers of democracy in Abia State that the worst disaster that should be allowed to befall Abia State in 2027 is allowing Mr Alexander Otti to become a Governor a second time in the State.
