Reconstructing A Road That Leads To More Than 2,000 Sequestered Hectares Of Land Is No Charity.
Tuesday (Orie) 11-03-2025.
People must be careful to differentiate between acts arising from selfish economic interest and those that come out of charity.
If a Governor has dispossessed a People of more than Two Thousand Hectares of their land that sustain their farming and livelihood, and has decided to reconstruct the road that leads to where the land is, that should not call for celebration.
It is only time that will prove what such unusually large hectarage of land will be used for, by who and in the overall interest of who.
Naivety, nay, ignorance, is when a People’s means of livelihood has been deliberately but tactfully confiscated yet they go all the way to clap for and applaud the person that has diminished their value and short-changed the good essence of their life.
It is quite unfortunate, especially when the amount of money initially promised to be paid as compensation becomes suddenly reduced by more than 60%. Yet, there is no avenue for complaints!
The fate, predicaments, of the generations yet to come should not be lost on the People. This Author could be labelled an alarmist today, but wait, in the next 50 years when he would have long gone to be happy with his ancestors, sane young ones that read this write-up today will beat their chest and exclaim, ‘Yes, there was this Man’.
