INEC CONTINUOUS VOTER REGISTRATION STARTS TODAY.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has, preparatory to 2027 General Election, announced that it will begin its Online Continuous Voter Registration today, Monday (Orie) 18th August, 2025.
According to the report, the Portal to facilitate this exercise opens today and will last up to Wednesday (Nkwo) 10th December, 2025.
Reportedly, physical/on site registration will start on Monday (Eke) 25th August, 2025 in the various registration centres across the country.
Those to be involved in this exercise include;
(1) Nigerians who have recently attained the age of 18,
(2) Nigerians who had attained the age of 18 before last registration exercise but were unable to register,
(3) Voters who have lost their Voter’s Card,
(4) Voters who need to change their voting centres, or
(5) Voters whose Voters’ Cards have been defaced or damaged.
The importance of this exercise needs not be overemphasized as Voters’ participation in elections is a sine qua non for a healthy democracy.
