Governor Alexander Otti Has Unlawfully Taken My Wife’s Car To His Private Residence At Umuehim-Nvosi.
Tuesday (Afor) 12-11-2024.
Democracy goes pari passu with the Rule of Law. Rule of Law is the beauty and attraction of Democracy. Any person that has no respect for the Rule of Law is not fit to be a Governor.
Without serving me any notice or subpoena to appear before it, Abia State Judicial Panel of Inquiry On Recovery of Government Properties, Funds and Related Matters had issued a Bench Warrant for my arrest, over a car the State Government had formally bequeathed to me.
On enquiry, I found out that the Panel would sit again on 24th January, 2024. On that day, I went with my Lawyer and presented the letter of bequeathment of the car to the Panel. The letter was unambiguous.
But the Chairman of the Panel, one Hon Justice Ifeoma Ikwuoma Duruoha-Igwe Rtd, who obviously appeared power drunk and not having a mastery of the Law, demanded that I should provide the Panel with minutes of the meeting of the State Executive Council that authorized the bequeathment.
It was at that point that I concluded that either the woman was absurdly deep in witch hunt and, so, had become mentally incapacitated and had equally become professionally blinded or she was simply an ignoramus.
Apart from asking me to furnish her kangaroo Panel with Minutes of a State Executive Council Meeting which even a mad man on a street in her town should know was classified, she irrationally asked that I should sign a ‘Bond’, which I considered was her manifestation of inanity to intimidate me. I looked straight into her cranky dilapidated variegated face and bluntly told her I was not going to sign any ‘Bond’, whatsoever. She then ordered that my wife’s car that I came with should be impounded.
Before that 24th January, 2024, I had applied for a Judicial Review of my case in a State High Court, and the Application was served her. But as someone who thought she was on an shameless mission to humiliate Governor Otti’s enemies, she absurdly gave no attention to the my Application for a Judicial Review.
Having unlawfully impounded and seized my wife’s car, I approached a Court of Competent Jurisdiction, and the Court, on the 7th day of June, 2024 ordered that my wife’s Toyota Corolla car, with Registration Number RSH 723 CU, with Chassis Number 2T 2BR 32E65C876738, should be released to me forthwith.
Governor Alexander Otti has refused to obey the Court Order. He has vowed not to release my wife’s car.
Yesterday, being Monday 11-11-2024, he secretly ordered that my wife’s car be driven to his compound to be used for errands by some of his Aides. The car is now in Umuehim village where he lives, in Isialangwa-South Local Government Area.
By removing my wife’s Toyota Corolla Car to his private residence at Umuehim-Nvosi, the following questions arise;
(1) Did his Panel of Enquiry recommend that he should confiscate my wife’s car?
(2) If his Panel recommended confiscation of my wife’s car, has any Government White Paper been released on the Enquiry?
(3) Even if the Panel recommended confiscation of my wife’s car, is the appropriate place to keep custody of my wife’s car the private residence of Governor Otti?
(4) By keeping my wife’s car in his custody at Umuehim-Nvosi, does Governor Otti intend to perform some rituals on the car before releasing the car to me, and
(5) Does Governor Alexander Otti realize that by disobeying an Order of a Court of Competent Jurisdiction he is laying the foundation for lawlessness in Abia State?
Finally, let me use this opportunity to call on Governor Alexander Otti to obey the Court Order that ordered him and his cohorts to release my wife’s Toyota Corolla Car. He should not, out of callousness, make Abia State vulnerable to litigations that will tell heavily on the State. Let a stitch in time, save nine.
