COMMUNIQUE BY OUR TEAM 1999-2023.
In a 2026 annual meeting of OUR TEAM 1999-2023, formerly OUR TEAM 1999-2007, hosted by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator T. A. Orji (Ochendo) today, Friday (Orie) 9th January, 2026 at his Umuahia-Ibeku country-home, and ably presided over by the Leader of the TEAM, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, with a commendable attendance of Seventy-one Members, the following Communique was issued after an exhaustive deliberation;
(1) That Members of OUR TEAM should redouble efforts to ensure that the TEAM grows from strength to strength,
(2) That every Member of the TEAM that had, in one way or another, been made to feel aggrieved should let bygones be bygones in the overall interest of the TEAM,
(3) That, no matter the circumstances, the TEAM should be collectively and ceaselessly focused to ensure that the objectives for which the TEAM was formed are met,
(4) That Membership of the TEAM be expanded to incorporate those that served in the succeeding Governments of Senator T. A. Orji, (2007-2015), and Dr Okezie Ikpeazu (2015-2023),
(5) That a 19-Man Technical Committee comprising Prof A. C. B. Agbazuere as Chairman, Sir Don Ubani as Secretary, with each of the 17 Local Government Council Areas of the State having one Member, be set up to develop a Blueprint for the TEAM,
(6) That a Law Suit be instituted by the TEAM compelling the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alexander Chioma Otti, to operate the affairs of Government from the constitutionally stipulated Government House, Umuahia, instead of the current unconstitutional practice of running the affairs of Government from his private residence at Nvosi in Isialangwa-South Local Government Area,
(7) That the TEAM unanimously endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second term in office, and assure that the it will assiduously work to deliver the Governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly seats to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2027 general election,
(8) That the TEAM unanimously commend President Tinubu for the nomination of one of her Members, His Excellency, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, as an Ambassador-designate, and
(9) That the Technical Committee should advise the TEAM on schedules for subsequent meetings, as the need may arise.
