APC Assures Optimal Performance In Abia State.
A Stakeholders’ meeting of All Progressives Congress, APC, Abia State Chapter, presided over by the State Chairman, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu, took place on Saturday 15th November, 2025, at the Party’s State Office, in Umuahia.
The meeting, which was well attended by critical Stakeholders, including the Deputy Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CFR, former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia-North Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the Member representing Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency in the 10th House of Representatives, Hon Chris Nkwonta, the Commissioer representing Abia State on the the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission, Chief Eruba Dimgba, Ph.D, a former Senator that represented Abia-Central Senatorial District in the Senate, Distinguished Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, immediate-past Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji, a former Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and former 2023 Presidential Aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Cosmos Ndukwe, a former Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Kennedy Njoku, a former Chief of Staff to an Abia State Governor and 2023 Governorship Candidate of Action Peoples’ Party, Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu, a former Chief of Staff to a Governor of Abia State and Abuja- based Constitutional Lawyer, Professor A C B Agbazuere, a former Commissioner for Information in the State, Sir Don Ubani, a former Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of Abia State Deputy Governor, Dr Chris Nwagboso, a former Executive Chairman of Ugwunagbo Local Government Area, Chief Chinwe Nwanganga, another former Executive Chairman of Ugwunagbo Local Government Area, Chief Eze Nwanganga, a former Commissioner that represented Abia State on the Board of defunct Oil Minerals Producing Areas Development Commission, Sir Esiaba Iwezor, a former Executive Chairman of Ukwa-West Local Government Area, Elder Goodluck Nwobiwe, an Abia State 2023 Governorship Aspirant on the platform of PDP, Chief Don Lulu, a Senior Legislative Aide to the President of the 10th Senate, Mr Ikenna Ukwa, and two front line Politicians, Hon Ezedinachi Kanu, and Engr Izuchukwu Ahuruonye, was basically summoned to inform members of the Party that the Party has become united and strong enough to win all elections in the State in 2027, and assured that with the humongous amount of money the APC Federal Government, as ably led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been releasing to the State, the Party, at victory, will guarantee Optimal Utilization of the resources to make sure Abia will be better for it.
In his speech, corroborated, by many other speakers, the Chairman of the Party, Dr Ononogbu, frowned at lack of transparency and accountability in the running of the affairs of Abia State by Labour Party Government. The Chairman expressed surprise and dissatisfaction that Abia State Government claimed to have expended the sum Thirty-Three Billion Naira to Reconstruct a less than SIX-KILOMETRE PORT-HARCOURT ROAD in Aba, making it unbelievably to have cost N5.5b Per Kilometre.
Furthermore, the Chairman stated that Labour Party Government’s claim of having used ‘N54b on audio smart schools remains unexplainable’.
Dr Ononogbu, without mincing words, said that no single State in Nigeria was willing to join the Labour Party, as results of all the Off-Season Elections held recently in Nigeria have shown.
Members used the occasion to raise fund for the smooth running of the Party, while the Chairman briefed them on some developments at the National level.
The Party passed votes of Confidence in the President And Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Leader of the Party in Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Deputy Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, The Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CFR, the Senator representing Abia-North Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, H. E. Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the Member representing Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency in the 10th House of Representatives, Hon Chris Nkwonta, and the State Chairman of the Party in Abia State, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu.
The meeting came to a close following a Motion for adjournment by Sir Don Ubani, while Rt Hon Cosmos Ndukwe said the closing prayer.
