2025 Divine Showers On A Charismatic Former Council Chairman, Chief Okey Kanu. By Sir Don Ubani; KSC, JP Tuesday(Nkwo)28-01-2025

Chief Okey Kanu is the immediate-past Executive Chairman of Oil-rich Ukwa-West Local Government Council in Abia State.

If the adjective, beautiful, were to be applied to a male gender, Okey, as he is popularly called, would be described as a ‘beautiful’ man.

He is not just physically handsome or ‘beautiful’, if it were applicable, Okey is in love with humanity. He has a golden heart. Whatever one asks of him that he does not give, he does not have. He is generously disposed to humanity.

At the slightest contact with Okey, one is bound to go home with, at least, one impression, and that is his ever thankfulness to God, his Creator. A very contented man, Okey, who, historically-speaking, is an aborigine of Umuiku-Asa in Ozaa-Ukwu, will always tell whoever that cares to listen that without God, he would have been nothing. No wonder, he depicts accommodation and benevolence to his fellow human-beings, at all times.

Before coming into Politics, Chief Okey Kanu was, not just a successful Lagos-based Businessman, but was characteristically liberal.

Today, Tuesday (Nkwo) 28th January, 2025, is his birthday. He describes today as ‘divine showers’ from God Almighty. Though an annual phenomenon, Okey will not like to take it for granted. He knows that life belongs to God and that any second man is opportune to live on Earth is only as a result of God’s grace.

This year’s birthday of Chief Okey Kanu is quite spectacular in his family. This is because of an uncommon glorious coincidence. His wife, Lolo Orjiugo Kanu, to the glory of God Almighty, has just been promoted to the unique Rank of Comptroller of Customs And Excise.

His Siblings, Friends, and Associates, in one accord, gladly join Okey, his delectable wife, and family to thank God Almighty for Divine Showers on Chief Okey Kanu and his amazing family.
Happy birthday!

Sir Don Ubani is a former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Abia State and writes from his native Asa land beautifully situated between Aba in Abia State and Port-Harcourt in Rivers State.
